A member asked:

What does it mean to have air-fluid levels in right colon with abd distention, pain, and change in bowel habits. dr sent me home. said it was normal. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

VIsit GI ASAP: The presence of air-fluid levels should raise the suspicion of an obstruction .there is no mention of further findings to suggest ischemic or infectious etiology.- CT can be used to diagnose intraluminal, mural, and extramural causes of LBO. In this patient a good Hx and P/E is essential to further proceed with a appropiate diagnostic test. The symptom in this patient demands a more urgent w/u.
