A member asked:

Hi, im concerned that my son of 18 may have a type.of asthma cough..its a cough that constant and become something he just does often now. thx?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It can happen: Persistent cough can be a sign of poorly controlled regular asthma. It can also be a sign of a very mild asthma form called cough variant asthma. (It can be helped with asthma meds) Specific testing would be required to confirm it. Persistent cough can also be seen with adult pertussis or other lung conditions or tic disorders.
