Depends: Most people do not experience any signs or symptoms of high blood pressure or hypertension which is why many have considered hypertension the silent killer. Some people will experience headaches, vision changes, ringing in the ears, and other vague symptoms when their blood pressure is elevated. Optimal BP is less than 120/80 with hypertension starting at 140/90 (either value).

Nothing!: The most common symptoms of high blood pressure are no symptoms. The only way to check out your blood pressure is to have it measured. By the time people have symptoms like headache, chest pain or shortness of breath, they have probably had elevated blood pressure for quite a while.
