Maybe minute clinic?: Sounds like a technical aspect of your HSA contract. Your MD should be able to give you a prescription for meds they recommend or agree with, even if it’s OTC. You can use a minute clinic, even. I hope this helps

Some basics: My understanding of the matter is that the existing revisions to the healthcare law eliminated use of any HSA funds for OTC drugs. I would verify this with an accountant before you place yourself at risk for IRS scrutiny.
