No emergency: No, this isn't an emergency. Fairly soon, however (1-2 weeks), to improve the chance examination can see the source. Sooner if the bleeding becomes heavy or you develop other symptoms, e.g. diarrhea, pain, etc. Usually this sort of thing isn't serious (e.g., hemorrhoids) -- but sometimes serious and all unexplained rectal bleeding needs professional evaluation.
