Yes: Transmission from one person to another involves some sequence where contamination from the infected person's anus makes it to the other person's mouth. (Sorry to be so specific!) So, clothes that touch the anus, and that then are touched by another person, who then touches their mouth, which we all do all the time, could cause infection. Washing the clothes is sufficient to prevent infection.
