SIBO: Most patients feel better by the end of the treatment. Although 30-40 percent patients may not completely get better or there may be a re-occurence after few months. Follow up with your GI doctor closely.

Small intestinal: bacterial overgrowth syndrome is usually found in more elderly individuals and is treated with probiotics primarily which exert an anti-inflammatory as well as anti-bacterial effects. There is a case to be made for antibiotics, but correction of nutritional deficits along with probiotics is the mainstay of treatment. Question: how was this diagnosis extablished? breath test for hydrogen/methane
