I tested positive for proteus ox-19 in mexico after taking antibiotics a month ago. says high amount present, have minimal symptoms (bloating) the doctor here rxed me probiotics + cipro if necessary. can probiotics + prebiotic diet kill the bacteria?

Probiotics are just colony forming units (seeds) of normal gut germs that are known to be healthy & not cause problems. Their presence in your gut may crowd out some "bad" germs but not kill them. Diet has little to do with what germs do in since they can feed/survive on most anything there.
