MRI: An MRI of your lumbosacral spine would probably demonstrate a bulging or herniated intervertebral disc pressing on a nerve root. Apparently it is affected by positional factors. Agree with Dr. C: You may take acetaminophen for the pain, do not take more than 4 gm/day, do not take alcohol. Do not restrict your activities. Do not be in hurry to get intervention, other than physical therapy.
