Depo shot ?: The depo-progesterone shot is effective in preventing pregnancy if it is given prior to ovulation, as its function prevents implantation of a fertilized egg. However, depending on if you ovulated prior to the depo shot, you could still be pregnant, as once implanted, the fertilized egg will be maintained even with long acting progesterone on board.
