Viral infection?: Many cases of conjunctivitis (pink eye) are due to viruses, especially adenovirus, which also can cause sore throat and headache. Viruses do not respond to any antibiotic, but usually these things are not serious and clear up on their own. However, other causes also are possible, sometimes serious. See a doctor -- do it immediately if high fever, if headache is severe, or sleepiness or confusion.
