It's a : "Non specific" abnormality but MAY indicate an intrasubstance tear (tear in the body of the cartilage which makes up the meniscus. The lateral meniscus is the cartilage which supports the "outside" of the knee. The physician who ordered the MRI should be consulted as to what your next "move" should be (No PUN intended) Hope this is helpful Dr Z
