Pain from: acid flowing back into the esophagus from the stomach is treated by stopping the acid flow! This generally involves the use of two major classes of medication. H-2 Blockers (eg: Ranitidine) and Proton Pump Inhibitors (eg: Omeprazole). If you are already taking these medications you need to see a GASTROENTEROLOGIST! Hope this is helpful! Dr Z
