Some basics: Aspirin in any form is considered a category "C" drug during early pregnancy. That means that there are no controlled studies showing risk or lack of risk to the fetus but the drug should be limited to conditions where the benefit to the mother makes it necessary. It becomes a category "D" drug in the last trimester meaning it has documented fetal risk &n should be avoided.
