A member asked:

What might cause me to have cramps around the sides of my ribcage?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Muscular: If the cramps occur at both sides of the rib cage I suspect muscular irritability from recent physical activities involving some degree of straining these muscles. Another possibility is deficiency of calcium, magnesium or potassium. You could try taking a magnesium supplement recommended by your pharmacist. If symptoms persist, see your physician for evaluation and testing.
