A member asked:

My baby girl was born at 37 weeks by way of a caesarean section. she was born with a swollen labia majora. do i have reason to be concerned?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Newborn ?'s: Depending on if you were in labor prior to your C/S, your daughter's labia may be "swollen" secondary to pressures of labor or position of the fetus during labor. This is not generally a concern after birth, but see your pediatrician for reassurance.
