A member asked:

My sister 28, had two bells palsy attack in past 3 years, and currently she is having pain behind ear and neck, same as last time when attack happened?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ask for neuro: Ask to see neurologist.Bell's palsy is the most common cause of facial paralysis worldwide. However recurrent paralysis of the facial nerve is an unusual occurrence and reported in only 7-8% of all Bell's palsy cases. There is either a recurrent infection with herpes simplex or some other neuro issue such as ischemia..This is vry unusual for this to happen and needs further workup.
