A member asked:

I have endometriosis, doctor put me on visaane ,i have had bleeding for 3 weeks now,i have a cramp in my left arm worried about clots,is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Endometriosis: Visanne is a progestin, and while it is given with endometriosis, low dose combination oral bcp's is more likely to stop this form of bleeding if taken punctually on a daily basis. Progestins will alter ovulation times, and allow for constant estrogen production by the ovaries, with occasional breakthrough bleeding as described, whereas combination bcp's will not.
