Depends: The area over the bunion is where gout occurs usually.However some individuals can pain from the bunions themselves with it being inflammed such as from arthritis etc.If there is no Gout then would ice the area and take ibuprofen if there is no contraindication.Surgery is last resort and takes months to recover from.See a primary md or a Podiatrist for more definitive therapy.
