Different classes.: Lovan is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor while Cymbalta (duloxetine) is a norepinephrine and serotonin reuptake inhibitor. Both are used for major depression but Cymbalta (duloxetine) has been used for depression with chronic pain issues. They are chosen depending presenting symptoms.
