Surgical site: You didn't tell us how long ago the surgery was accomplished. If it has been longer then 2 weeks, return to the Dentist or specialist Oral Surgeon that treated you for a re-evaluation. And until you heal, avoid hot, cold or spicy foods, and be sure to clean as directed by your practitioner.
