Wash it....leave it.: 1. What sort of tick was it? You need to be concerned about deer tick bites and these are very small. Easy to miss. 2. Do you live in Lyme territory? If so and your are bitten by a deer tick you can take 200mgs of doxycycline and wait. So long as you are healthy you are fine. If you get fever go see a doctor. 3. If you live in Lyme territory I would get a yearly Lyme test from your doctor.

Ways to remove: Most people do not know of proper way to remove ticks-Not Burn it,not pertroleum jelly etc but Tweezers and do not grasp and pull hard. How to remove a tick Use fine-tipped tweezers to grasp the tick as close to the skin’s surface as possible. Pull upward with steady, even pressure. Don’t twist or jerk the tick; this can cause the mouth-parts to break off and remain in the skin.

Tick bite: Local irritation and inflammation is usually the symptom for an insect bite and it only needs local topical treatment and observation. Ticks usually remain embedded in the skin. After proven tick bites local follow up is critical as a rash might develop, typically described as bull's eye and that needs treatment right away with antibiotics as it is Lyme disease until proven otherwise.
