A member asked:

Can a teenager be diagnosed with pcos of they have almost all symptoms but their hormonal levels and ultra sound are normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The basics: To be diagnosed as PCOS you need to meet the criteria for the label. Without polycystic ovaries or biochemical evidence of the syndrome you don't meet 2 of the basic features of the syndrome. You can certainly suspect it may eventually be present, but other reasons for any symptoms should be sought.
