A member asked:

Is it safe to drink cold drinks (juice, water) and eat ice cream, cold yogurt, cold flan (a type of soft cool cake) a few hours after a single tooth extraction? are cake, bread, and rice appropriate food to eat a few hours after the extraction?

Post op: What you listed is fine to eat but best to try to eat on the other side of your mouth for a few days.

Carefully: The foods you have inquired about should be fine. Try to limit yourself to soft high-protein foods for a few days. The protein helps the healing process. Avoid foods that are too hot or too cold, let them approach room temperature. Avoid rinsing. Follow your Dentist's instructions.
