A member asked:

Occasionally my weight month old baby rub his ears..i dont know whether he has itching or not.does we need to remove ear wax?is this due to ear wax?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not: Ear wax does not cause pain and there is no need to clean it out. Infants often grab their ears if they have pain, either from teething or an infection. If he is drooling, he may be teething. If he has cold symptoms, it may be an ear infection. If it really seems to bother him, try Tylenol for pain relief. If it persists for many days or he seems ill with fever, he may need to be seen by a doctor.
