Vitamins: This a widely contested topic. Idealy, with a proper diet no vitamins are needed. However, I have seen many patients low in vitamin D. With vegan trends, I also have more patients with iron and b12 deficiency. I would suggest eating a healthy diet. If you suspect a deficiency, I would check with your physician and check some routine labs. You can take 500 mg vit c, 800 unit vit d to start.

Good Multi and...: While a healthy diet is essential,I advise everyone take a good multivit.Few Americans get the recommended amounts of all vits. and minerals; even those who do benefit from taking higher amounts.I also advise at least 500 mg of Vit C 2x/day.All in US(except if in the deep South) need 5000-8000 iu of Vit D3 in fall and winter months,year-round if don't get much sun.
