Splenic flexure: I believe chronic inflammation in the splenic flexure of the colon can cause that discomfort with some radiation of symptoms toward lower rib cage. However I would have some concern about complications like ongoing inflammation, abscess,fistula or even malignancy in view of the chronicity of pain. Close follow-up,surveillance and treatment by a gastroenterologist is mandatory.l
