What are the means by which anxiety disorders and personality disorders differ from an adjustment disorder?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Symptoms & Time: Anxiety disorders involve symptoms of anxiety and often fear in the case of phobias. Personality disorders contain traits and consistent behaviors that tend to be longer lasting and less episodic than anxiety (depending on disorder). Adjustment disorder contain a mixture of symptoms, often anxiety/depression for a limited period of time due to identifiable stressor.
