Definitions: Dysthymia is a type of mood disorder -- chronic depression lasting for at least 2 years. There are disturbances in appetite, sleep, and energy; low self-esteem, poor concentration, difficulty making decisions, etc. Mood disorders include both depression and mania -- euphoric or irritable mood (bipolar d/o). Adjustment d/o w/anxiety = clinically significant anxiety in response to clear stressor(s).
