Gum graft: That question must be answered by the Dentist or specialist Orthodontist who treated you, and the Dentist or specialist Periodontist or specialist Oral Surgeon scheduled to do your graft. They are the practitioners familiar with your situation. General rule, look for reasons to wear your retainers, not excuses to take them out. By consulting g with each other they can best direct your treatment.

Retainers: The retainers only sit on your teeth and not your gingiva. If the periodontist places a healing pack over the graft, the retainer may put excess pressure in that area. This question should be directed to your periodontist, since they can actually see you and the inserted retainer.
