Tilted head to rinse eye w/ water. i think some water went in ear. right after, my ear hurt & still feels irritated. can infection start that fast?

No: If there is wax/cerumen in the ear canal, water can make it swell and cause pressure and discomfort in the ear. Give it a day or two and if not improved, see your doctor for diagnosis.
