No: Cause for perioral dermatitis is still obscure.. It may clear up by itself in months or years. Application of topical antibiotics, e.g., erythromycin ointment helps healing.

Perioral dermatitis: In my experience with patients with persistent perioral dermatitis, I found that avoiding any balms or salves containing bees wax and applying a mild cortisone ointment or cream achieved the best results. I didn't think that nutritional deficiencies played a role, but there is no harm in taking a multivitamin daily just in case.

Niacin and B6: deficiency can result in peri-oral rash. If you are eating a mixed diet, you are unlikely to have deficiency, however, taking a multivitamin supplement may help. You may visit this site for more info: https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/001455.htm
