Yes, try clearing: If your ear infection is in the middle ear associated with blockage of Eustacian tube which is the usual, you should tolerate flying in a pressurized cabin although the pressure change may cause pain (descent worse than ascent). If you can pinch your nose and blow (known as Valsalva maneuver) and allow your middle ear pressure to equalize, it will probably reduce the pain and blocked sensation.
