Muscle pain: Fibromyalgia is characterized by diffuse muscle pain and fatigue. It often comes with problems sleeping, emotional issues, and changes in cognitive function. It is diagnosed by multiple points of tenderness and lack of abnormal labs testing (e.g. labs tests are normal). On the other hand, general muscle tension is often a symptom of anxiety.
