Morning, my daughter has been struggling with a very dry & barky cough the last few weeks. been trying to treat ourselves, time for anti biotics?

Hard to say: Cough by its nature is designed to remove debris from the deeper regions of the lung. Persistent cough could be a sign of cough variant asthma, irritant/allergy exposure or an infectious process. Management would depend on a review of history/present illness and an exam with or without tests as needed.

Agree with Dr. F: Any cough lasting longer than two weeks needs to be evaluated by a doctor.
