Loss of : appetite is a fairly common side effect of Metformin. Since many people who are placed on Metformin are obese type 2 Diabetics the associated weight loss is "welcome"....if it's a problem , there may be alternatives...speak with your PCP.. Hope this is helpful! Healthy New Year! Dr Z
