Non-specific test: Your D-dimer is borderline elevated. While D-dimer is used as a screening test for thromboembolic disease like pulmonary embolus (rule out by CT scan) or deep vein thrombosis(rule out by leg ultrasound). D-dimer itself is not a specific test since other causes, including infection, chronic inflammatory state, kidney disease, and malignancy can all cause elavation.

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, D-dimer is better for excluding DVT than making a diagnosis. You level is just above the upper limit. If you are overweight losing weight would help.
