A member asked:

What kind of ultrasound is done for a quad tendon tear? also what happens if it is found to be partial torn?

Tendon injury: Sonography is an effective tool for identifying quadriceps tendon tears that require surgical treatment (high‐grade partial tears and complete ruptures). What is done really depends on what the US shows.

Musculoskeletal: Musculoskeletal ultrasound can diagnose a quad tendon rupture and also tell the extent of it. A small partial tendon tear can be treated in brace; larger tears and complete tears require surgical repair.
