Could join fusion prevent me from extending my leg while sitting down, or would it be a torn quad tendon?

Effusions: As mentioned in the previous answer an effusion, which causes excess fluid to fill the joint are most likely causing the acute symptoms. But, the reason for the effusion could very well be tendon or ligament injuries. Effusions are the result of an injury.
