Oral contraceptive: Birth control pills are generally effective for prevention of pregnancy but they don't provide protection against STIs (sexually transmitted infections). Using condoms every time you have sex will provide this protection as well as increased safety that you will not get pregnant. Taking your pills at the same time each day will also help. Some people find taking them at night is easier.
