Can cancerous lymph nodes ever be soft and mobile or are they always hard as a rock and firm?

“Never say never”: And “Always” is almost always the wrong answer” when taking standardized tests in medical school. In my own experience, I had a patient with a large soft lesion on his neck. It felt like a lipoma (fatty tumor) however when it was biopsied there were malignant cells from a lung metastasis).“Usually” soft mobile lesions are benign, but not always. In surgery they say “if in doubt, cut it out”.
