Left sided pain: Possible causes are inflammation of the descending colon from diverticulitis or inflammatory bowel disease. Irritable bowel syndrome or pelvic pathology are other possibilities. I recommend a prompt examination by your physician, gynecologist or abdominal surgeon. Appropriate testing will be done in order to make a diagnosis.
