Often up to 12 hrs: Illness with Norovirus is quite variable from nausea only to V repeatedly for 8-12 hrs and then intermittently for an additional 1-2 d, esp. in kids. Diarrhea can last a few days and up to a week or longer in weaker individuals. Drink electrolyte fluids even with V, as some is digested and it rinses out the stomach instead of dry heaves. Your MD may Rx ondansetron. Try antacids too.
