Not a treatment: There are no conclusive studies that show drinking red wine lowers intraocular pressure or helps glaucoma. There are some studies that suggest drinking red wine may lower a person's risk for macular degeneration.

Not a treatment : The use of alcohol to help reduce eye pressure (iop) is not sufficient enough to have any significant or lasting impact on glaucoma. An approximation of 1-2 mmHg decrease in iop has been cited, but does not last long. Additionally the negative effects of drinking too much alcohol on health are well known.
