Do ppi's contribute to dementia and heart disease? seen study's saying yes, my gastro says no. what is the reasoning behind why? mineral deficiency?

Way too early: to tell. There has been no evidence linking PPI's to dementia. There was one small study linking PPI's to potential heart disease, but it was small. Also, just because the two are correlated does not mean that one causes the other. With observational studies like this, it is difficult to prove causation. More research is needed, so blaming the med is premature. Hope this helps!

Many issues but not:: PPI's are associated with many serious heath hazards. One study showing increased dementia has not been replicated but PPI's increase risk of osteoporosis, pneumonia, C. difficile infection, B12 deficiency etc. We need acid to absorb minerals and maintain a healthy biome. Recent studies show increase mortality in those taking PPI's. See https://tinyurl.com/y9ejsth7 See my comment for alternatives.
