I recently had disc replacement surgery to l4/l5 and all went well but i am suffering from pain in my tummy like a really bad stitch u get after exercising. is this normal?

Possibly: There can certainly be some discomfort associated with the surgery and the anterior approach used to place the disc replacement. I would just make sure your surgeon is aware. There are rare but potentially serious complications from anterior approaches used in spinal surgery.
