Lower ldl: Diet is the number one way to lower ldl, but taking plant sterols and stanols will help prevent some absorption of dietary fats. Your super high hdl is protective. I don't recommend your taking cholesterol lowering medication at this time and would be satisfied with LDL under 130, but your personal physician can advise you best.

Exercise: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your numbers are okay for a person without risk factors. The best way to control lipids is through diet and exercise. Have a healthy diet, exercise, drink plenty of water, have safe sex.

Agree: A-sterols as a supplement proved to be effective in lowering LDL;. however the sono-doppler follow up studies on the arteries failed to demonstrate the expected positive effect .. the jury is still debating!,,,, B-based on various studies a low HDL, did not predict coronary artery disease unless the LDL levels were high;
