A member asked:

My cholesterol is 6.31, hdl 1. 93,ldl 3.68.want to bring ldl down by natural medication. are you able to suggest a natural supplement please ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lower ldl: Nonprescription ways to lower LDL include omega 3 fish oil(tiny effect, better to lower triglyceride),the vitamin niacin, soluble fiber like psyllium, butter substitutes containing stanol or sterols, red yeast rice extract(although this may have some statin like effect) and garlic. Discuss this with your physician before taking large amounts of any of these.
