Mercury vapor: I am been practicing dentistry for over 40 years in the USA and am well read on past and present research and studies in this area. There is no concern when removing amalgam fillings in patients and no specific required protocol when doing so. The risk to you is minimal or non-existent. Do not worry! We as dentists who would be exposed more over time also are not concerned. Disregard internet hype
