Life threatening: Pneumonia is a common lung infection which is caused by germs, such as bacteria, viruses and fungi. Bacteria respond to antibiotics. Many healthy people recover from pneumonia in 1-3 weeks but it can be life-threatening. If antibiotics are prescribed & you don't take them your life could be at risk. Also, drink a lot of fluids and get a lot of bed rest & take aspirin or NSAIDs only as prescribed.
